Routing matters more than specs
A VPN server is lightweight — even a 512MB–1GB VPS runs WireGuard or OpenVPN for dozens of users. What actually matters is network quality and route, especially if you need traffic routed to or through China.
What to prioritize
- Optimized routing (like CN2 GIA-E) for low latency into China
- Dedicated IPv4 for clean, unfiltered connectivity
- Full root access to install the kernel module and firewall rules
- Enough bandwidth for streaming and calls
